Life Lately

Life has been flying by fast these past couple of weeks. As Matt and I were driving home from Salt Lake yesterday we talked about how fast the weekend had gone by and also how fast time is going by. Just closer to one more semester being done and moving to San Diego!

So here is life lately according to my phone. . .

I've enjoyed a few inner-tube water polo games.
Look at those goalie skills!
Oh hey Whit!
We've started using our raclette grill more. Many delish dinners from it! And very easy.
I started anesthesia. This is slightly nerve racking fyi.
We got a little snow. Not much thank goodness.
Had many fun dates together. This one at Matt's favorite pizza place.
Made some jam!
Also enjoyed a few sonic dates. Thanks to Will for the buy-one-get-one card!
This weekend we spent some time with Matt's family. It was fun to see his mom and grandma. We had a lovely weekend with them up in Salt Lake and of course played many games!

Birthday Boy!

It was Matt's 24th birthday on Friday!

Unfortunately he had to work and I had school, so we didn't really start to celebrate until late that afternoon. His boss let him come home from work early, which was a surprise to me since I was still wrapping his presents and baking the cake...

The birthday boy
Some nice new mocks
And this.
I totally caved and bought it. Matt has been kidding for a while now that he was going to buy it with some of his Christmas money. But I knew he never actually would, and since he really wanted it, I got it. It was quite the surprise to him.
We celebrated with some of our close friends at Texas Roadhouse and then back home for his favorite, cake and mint chip ice cream.

Pie Shake Please!

Matt and I enjoyed a lovely date night out to Sammy's over the weekend.
A special thank you to Whit who gave us this dinner for two for Christmas.

It was first-date central at Sammy's that night. We got a good laugh at the different conversations going on while we were there. Pretty funny!

Delish!

Afterwards we watched Midnight in Paris
Contrary to the reviews online, Matt and I were not big fans. . .

Big Deal

I took my big pre-boards exam this week. For those of you that don't know what that is, its basically finals all over again but over every class we've taken so far and on the first day back from our month long break. Sweet huh?

Every class was only 20 questions. If you scored below a 75% you have to remediate the class. Annoying right? It seemed silly to me that we would have to basically take the class over again when we have already taken it and passed, and with pretty much straight A's except for a particular lovely class.

There was much panic in the classroom yesterday as little slips of paper got handed out.
This was one of those instances where you wanted a small strip and not a big one. Since the school still has my maiden name I had to wait for 56 other girls to get their results back first. And the majority of them seemed to not be good. (Lots of big pieces of paper.)

I'm proud to say that I do NOT need to remediate any of my previous classes! And I got an 87% overall. (This is a big deal fyi)

This was such a relief.
I now feel more confident about taking the actual national boards and clinical exams in a little less than a year.

Let the studying begin. . .

Back to School

It's that time again! Emma and I will be going back to school for our 3rd to last semesters. Emma has been studying hard all break as she has a crucial test to pass in order to pass off all the classes she has taken so far in her hygiene school. I know she will pass though so in the end its nbd. I am signed up to take some real pleasures such as Accounting 241 - Business Law and oooohhh ISYS 555 - Data Mining!!! The one thing that will push us through this semester is definitely our future cruise. We depart out of Long Beach on April 22nd. It's been a long awaited honeymoon ;)

Here is our ship: Carnival Splendor
