Memorial Day

I have always had fond memories of Memorial Day.
Growing up we always started the day at the Miller's for a delicious breakfast and swam in the pool and soaked up the sun for the rest of the day.

This Memorial Day was not much different...

Matt and I headed to Seven Peaks with some friends and spent the majority of the day there.
The weather was perfect and it wasn't too crowded.

After that we cleaned up and headed over to our friends house for a BBQ and kickball.

And a little tribute to my cute grandparents.
By far the sweetest love story ever.
I was very close with my grandparents and they taught me a lot.
I'm grateful for their service and the many others who have served our country and protected our freedoms.

Celebrations

Even though Matt had to work pretty late on Friday night, this weekend could not have been better.
We started off Saturday morning with celebrating our 9 month anniversary.
It was delicious.

We then headed up to Salt Lake in the afternoon.
Did a some shopping and then met up with some friends later to have dinner.

Matt and his favorite food

The whole gang...

We then had another celebration on Sunday for my brothers birthday.
We enjoyed dinner together with family and friends.
William opened some presents and then naturally we sang and had cake.

Picnic

We decided to take a picnic up the canyon today.
We grabbed lunch and a blanket and were on our way.

The weather was perfect!

We ended the day by grabbing dinner with some friends and playing games.
And now watching the Laker game.
Great weekend!

Camping and School

I started back at school this week, which means I also started back with patients.
Today was the first day with patients, and it was a day for the books.
To make a long story short, my first patient spoke no English, was much harder that what we are required to work on this semester and did not understand any of the little Spanish I spoke to him.
He also pulled what my teacher and thought was his tooth out of his mouth.
We eventually came to realize it wasn't, thank goodness.
Great first week back!

On a happier note...I went camping for the first time!
It wasn't as bad as what I expected. Sleeping was still a little rough, but thats just how it goes I suppose.

We fished a little.

The boys started an excellent fire

While we roasted our marshmallows

The next morning, we packed up camp and took a little hike to this pretty waterfall.

First time camping was a success and I have come to the conclusion that I can camp, at least for a night.
