We Love Our Nieces

My brother and sister in law moved to Utah and Matt and I have loved it! We will surely miss having them so close to us!

Currently

Matt and I had a plan on me moving down to CA for his last semester in school. We thought it woud be perfect to go down, take the test, get licensed and start working down there. But after much thought, consideration and prayer (and tears) we realized we made the wrong decision.

We had lived apart before while he did his internship, and it was horrible. I hated every minute of it. (I obviously could never make it as a military wife.) So why did we think it was such a great idea to do it again? Who knows. But this whole situation has made me realize how great of a husband I have. It also made us a lot closer.

So almost a month later I moved back to Utah, with only two suit cases. (Yikes!) I was extremely worried that I would just be sitting around for the 3 months, which I did for the first little bit. But our prayers were answered and Heavenly Father made it evident that I was suppose to be back in Utah for many reasons.
I've been temping a fair amount, which has been nice, and also made becoming licensed here worth it. I have also been able to spend a lot of time with my sweet nieces.

Working up here has also affirmed to me even more how much I love my career. I love helping patients every day and bettering their health. It has also made me anxious to find a job down in CA in an office where I will see the same patients over and over again.

CA License

I had to take yet another test (this was numer 6) to get my license in California. After getting licensed in both CA and UT, I have to say Utah made it much easier and quicker.

The last test I had to take was the California Ethics and Law exam. Such a bore to study for.
But I took it and passed. And I am now licensed in both states, Utah for just the time being until we move.

Matt's Birthday

My hubby turned the big 2-5 this year! He is getting so old!

We started the celebration a little early with his family.

We spent his actual birthday down in CA. We enjoyed a day of sun and great weather!
My parents took us out to dinner to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.
We lounged on the beach his whole birthday weekend. It was perfect.

The day after his birthday he wanted to go to the Habit for lunch. The best and only onion rings I eat. Delish.

Christmas

Matt and I had been looking forward to Christmas break for a long time! We were excited to head to CA to get a little sun and warmth on us. Happy to have a break, for him, from school. And I was happy to get a way for a bit as well.
I thought I would still be in limbo with receiving my test scores before I could become licensed in CA. But fortunately I got my scores back extremely earlier than expected and had an extra nice Christmas break.

I knew this Christmas would be a little difficult with it being my first one spend away from my family. So I was extra happy that we stayed a few days longer than planned in Provo to spend time with my family (since they spent Christmas in Utah this year.)

We had two nieces born within two days.

Sweet Sohpie

Love me some baby cuddles

All the boys went shooting, which Matt thoroughly enjoyed. I thoroughly enjoyed staying warm inside in the negative degree weather. So happy we are moving out of this cold soon!

Unfortunately this is the only picture I took in CA...whoops.
We enjoyed decorating gingerbread houses though! Derrick picked ours as the winner!

Matt's family has a tradition of giving an ornament every Christas, this was ours this year. Perfect!

Graduation

Graduation was a bittersweet day. Obvious excitement to be done with school, for now, but sad to not see the same girls everyday and all day long. We all became like a family in that year and a half. And I miss many of them dearly.

Graduation

I cannot seem to believe that I graduate in a week. It is still so surreal.

Last night Matt and I went to my graduation dinner. Its so bittersweet. Over the last year and a half, I've met some of my closest friends. And without them I probably would not have made it through that year and a half. I am so grateful for all my girls! And I will miss them dearly.

Some of my favorites

Definitely our class ray of sunshine!

However bittersweet it is, I know the best is yet to come. And I am so happy quite a few are moving to CA with me.
This next week is a big week! Clinicals and anesthesia boards!
And a big thank you to my lovely husband who is being my patient for anesthesia! He is such a trooper! (Who willingly volunteers to get shots?!)
